The Best Things I Ate at Chicago Gourmet
This post is a bit delayed but I did want to share some of the amazing things I ate this year at Chicago’s biggest food event of the year, Chicago Gourmet. For the 10th anniversary Bon Appetit really went all out with 10 total food events over Chicago Gourmet week including a Farm to Table dinner on the 606 with a meal cooked by Chicago celebrity chef Chef Rick Bayless.
This indulgent event also gives back, during Chicago Gourmet an online auction is hosted by The Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and 100% of the proceeds from the online auction and raffles go towards providing scholarships for aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals.
The highlight every year for me though is the amazing gourmet pavilions. This year there were 12 pavilions all running simultaneously which made picking and choose which ones to stand in line for a hard decision. On top of that, many restaurant groups also had their own tents and were serving favorite menu items there as well.
So without further ado feast your eyes on my favorite Chicago Gourmet dishes this year!
Peruvian Chicken - Tanta
Honey Butter Fried Chicken - Honey Butter Fried Chicken
Butter Cake - Mastro's Steakhouse
Smoked Salmon Rillettes and Homemade Salt & Vinegar Chips - Roanoke
Habanero Malt Swiss Meringue Lime Custard - Barrio
Buffalo Chicken Waffle Cone - Brickhouse Tavern
Chicago Mix Donuts - Stan's Donuts and Coffee
Chicago Gourmet provided me with a complimentary pass but all thoughts are my own.
