A New Adventurer is Born

If you’re a frequent reader of Dash of Adventure you may have noticed I’ve been MIA for a while. I’m glad to say that I have a great excuse for taking a bit of a break, on January 11th we welcomed a baby girl, Callie Rose, into the world! We chose not to announce our pregnancy on any form of social media including Dash of Adventure, as we wanted to keep the news to close family and friends. We also wanted to respect Callie and the fact that she will grow up one day and may not want to have a history of her life online. With that being said as the blog grows to include family-friendly adventure content, we’d be remiss not to at least tell you all why the new content!

We already have several Midwestern adventures planned for this summer with Callie to Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri and more. We are looking forward to passing along a love for travel and adventure to our little one! While we’ve already discovered that it’s no picnic to travel with a baby (Callie has already been on 2 road trips), we’re hoping that by starting her young she learns to be a patient, adaptable and appreciative traveler.

I have to continually remind myself that for her, travel is just a new adventure any stress is actually felt by the parents! So much of the time we project our anxieties onto our children, when things aren’t really bugging them at all. We’ve already learned you don’t need nearly as much “stuff” as you think you need and I’m sure it will all get easier as we continue to push ourselves to try new things as a family.

So welcome Callie Rose to a life full of adventure, we are excited for you to join us on our journey!
